Jenica Allen, Postdoctoral Research Associate at University of Massachusetts and Assistant Professor in Residence in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, brings expertise in landscape and invasive species ecology in addition to GIS, database management, and species distribution modeling experience. She works on modeling distributions and abundances of invasive species under current and predicted land use scenarios. She leads the task of simulation of management strategies. E-Mail: jenicaa@eco.umass.edu
-
Mark Boyer, Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor in Department of Political Science, brings strong public policy expertise, especially as it relates to issues of multi-level governance and its impact on environmental policy-making and environmental outcomes. He leads the tasks related to current policies, and works on the development of policy scenarios and evaluation of policy simulations. E-Mail: mark.boyer@uconn.edu
-
Weidong Li, Research professor in the Department of Geography, has a background in geospatial modeling and computer science. He works on the theory and development of the multi-D Markov chain model for the land use change analysis in this project. E-Mail: weidong.li@uconn.edu
-
Kathleen Segerson, Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor in Department of Economics, is an expert in natural resource economics. She leads the tasks related to drivers of land use change and invasions, and works together with Drs. Boyer and Allen on the development of policy scenarios and evaluation of policy simulations. E-Mail: kathleen.segerson@uconn.edu
-
John Silander, Research Professor in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, brings strong landscape, spatial analysis, and plant ecology expertise, and as director of the IPANE project, extensive research background on the biology of invasive species. He leads the task of modeling distributions and abundances of invasive species under current and predicted land use scenarios. E-Mail: john.silander@uconn.edu
-
Chuanrong Zhang, Associate Professor with a joint appointment at Department of Geography and Center for Environmental Sciences and Engineering--University of Connecticut (UConn), is responsible for overall direction of project activities and coordinating the work with Allen, Boyer, Li, Segerson, and Silander. As a broadly trained geographer with substantive interests in geographical techniques, she provides GIS and general land use knowledge to the project. She leads the task of quantifying and analyzing land use changes in LISW. E-Mail: chuanrong.zhang@uconn.edu
